Uhhhh...so I haven't finished my memoir yet. I've been in the middle of an essay for the past two months now, trying to find the energy, inspiration, and courage to finally finish it. Worked a little bit on it over the past couple of days, and now I have it opened again so that I can finally come up with a plan to finish it so I can move on to the next essay.
Would love to finally come to the end of memoir--well, not really THE END, because the end is already written. Has been for almost two years. It's all that space IN BETWEEN that I would love to end soon so that I can close this chapter of my life and move onto other writing projects. God how I miss school. I swear, when I was in school, I never dragged my ass like I'm doing now when it came to my writing. During my master's program, we had to meet deadlines for our drafts and final edits. Now that I'm out of school, all those deadlines that I desperately need are all long gone. But I'm thinking about going back for my PhD, that is, when all of my kids are in full-time school and I'll have the time (and the money, hopefully) to devote to a doctorate program.
BUT, some good news. I learned that I was one of the shortlist finalists for a contest I had entered towards the end of the year. So even though my essay did not win THE PRIZE, it did earn a spot in Adelaide Magazine's Best Essays of 2019 anthology!! Will be posting the link as soon as I get my copy in the mail.
