I've finally wrapped up my 16-week semester at my college. Grades are finished and submitted, and I wished my students a warm (and sad) farewell. I will miss them, and I was grateful to have known them for the weeks I had with them. For the summer, I'll be on a short vacation, for I won't go back to teaching until the end of August. I'll spend all of summer preparing for my classes and searching for my literary agent (she/he is coming; I know they are!)
If I get into the PhD program, however, I may have to stop teaching. We'll see.
My kids are still in school, though, until the middle of June. It's tough AF to do the "mommy thing" and make sure I can be there for my students and my writing and my cancer patients during the weekends. But it's cool, and I'm grateful to have the energy to do what I do. The video below shows a tidbit of what I have to trudge through every day after the kids' school day ends:
